Volunteer FAQ

How old do I need to be?

Volunteers must be 14 years or older to volunteer on their own. Children between 5 and 13 are welcome but need to be accompanied by an adult. Those under 18 will need to have their parent or guardian’s permission.

Are there group opportunities?

Yes, we offer volunteer activities for small groups and families throughout the year. The ideal group size is three to ten (3-10).

How often do people volunteer?

Most volunteers come once a week for a 2-3 hour shift. On-call subs are needed for filling in when our regular volunteers are unable to make their shifts or for one time needs and seasonal programs.

What are your hours?

We are open for volunteer activities Monday thru Friday days. We are not open evenings or weekends.

Are there any short-term volunteer projects?

Yes, volunteers with expertise in the following areas are sometimes needed for short term projects: mailings, data entry, social media, graphic design, photography, videography, event planning, event ambassadors.

Who should I contact if I have questions?

General volunteer questions please contact Misti Van Laar at misti.vanlaar@moundsviewschools.org or 651-621-6286.
